“The Pitt,” “Hacks,” “Pluribus” and “Widow’s Bay” are among the standouts in the early ceremonies ahead of the Emmys’ main night
The American television awards season gained momentum this weekend in Los Angeles as the first Emmy Awards trophies began to be handed out.
The early ceremonies are taking place at the Peacock Theater and include many of the technical categories, guest performances and other awards that will not be presented during the main broadcast.
Among the productions entering the competition with significant momentum is “The Pitt,” which received 25 nominations and is considered one of the season’s major contenders.
“Hacks,” “Pluribus” and “Widow’s Bay” are also among the series that could walk away from the weekend with multiple awards.
Bad Bunny wins his first Emmy
One of this year’s highlights is Bad Bunny, who earned his first Emmy for his work as a producer and performer on the Super Bowl halftime show.
The production received seven awards.
The achievement further expands the Puerto Rican artist’s presence at major U.S. entertainment awards after years of international success in music.
Competition continues next week
The early ceremonies are taking place over two nights and lead up to the main Emmy Awards event.
A special program featuring highlights from the early awards will air on FXX and Hulu on September 12.
The main ceremony is scheduled for September 14, with a live broadcast on NBC and Peacock hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
