Three Garth Brooks concerts and the United States vs. Peru match are expected to increase traffic and demand for parking across Downtown
Downtown Orlando is preparing for a busy weekend. Concerts, soccer and other events are expected to bring more than 20,000 people to the city center between Friday, September 25, and Sunday, September 27.
The City of Orlando issued an advisory encouraging residents and visitors to plan ahead because of the expected increase in traffic.
Among the weekend’s biggest attractions are three Garth Brooks concerts at the Kia Center and the U.S. Men’s National Team match against Peru at Inter&Co Stadium.
Garth Brooks plays three shows
Garth Brooks takes the stage at the Kia Center on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
The two originally announced shows sold out, prompting organizers to add a third performance for Sunday at 2 p.m.
The events are taking place in one of Downtown Orlando’s busiest areas, surrounded by restaurants, parking garages and other attractions.
United States faces Peru
On Saturday, the U.S. Men’s National Team faces Peru at Inter&Co Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., marking the first match for the U.S. team in its new cycle toward the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The stadium is located on West Church Street in Downtown Orlando and has a capacity of approximately 25,000 fans.
City recommends leaving early
With thousands of people expected to be moving through the area at the same time, city officials are advising visitors to leave early and allow additional travel time.
Drivers should also check parking options in advance.
LYMMO, Downtown Orlando’s free bus circulator, can be used to travel within the city center.
On Friday, SunRail is also an option for some visitors traveling into Downtown.
